Who we are
Africa is an immense continent, rich with wild places and countless ways to experience them. With so much choice, no two journeys should ever feel the same. At Photographing Africa Safaris, every itinerary is thoughtfully designed around the individual interests, pace, and needs of each guest.
I’m Dharmesh Daya, a professional safari guide based in Zimbabwe. My passion for wildlife, and for capturing the beauty of nature in all its forms, is something I strive to share with everyone who travels with me. Whether through photography, storytelling, or quiet observation, my aim is to help guests truly connect with the places they visit.
Be it’s the dry, dusty months or the lush green season after the rains, Africa carries an energy that is difficult to describe but impossible to forget. For me, time spent in wild places is grounding. Being out in the national parks of this remarkable continent has shaped not only the way I guide, but the way I see the world.
My journey into guiding was anything but conventional. Growing up in the city, I had little exposure to wildlife or the tourism world. That changed at the age of 19, when I began my first job as an apprentice guide. That early encounter with the African bush transformed my life and ignited a passion that has never faded. From that point on, the wilderness became my classroom and, ultimately, my home.
As a guide, I encourage guests to look at the natural world not only through human eyes, but through the perspective of the animals themselves — how they sense their surroundings, adapt, and survive. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple, relatable stories, helping the bush feel approachable, engaging, and alive for everyone.
This way of guiding reveals the intricate web of life that connects everything, from a wasp hunting spiders to a giraffe moving quietly through the trees. More than just sightings, my safaris are about fostering a deeper connection to nature — one that stays with guests long after they leave Africa.
